Rental Agreement
In plain terms
- This is the contract you actually sign when you rent a car from us — separate from the general Terms of Service for the website.
- We don't run a credit check. We do verify your license and identity, and we hold a refundable deposit.
- You're responsible for the vehicle while it's with you — what that covers depends on the protection plan you pick, laid out in Section 5.
01 The parties & this agreement
This Rental Agreement ("Agreement") is between you (the "Renter," "Driver," or "you") and EasyRide Rentals LLC, 5084 Bristor Dr, Sterling Heights, MI 48310 ("EasyRide," "we," "us"), and applies to the specific vehicle rental confirmed at booking and signed at pickup. It works together with the general Terms of Service, which govern your use of our website and booking tools — this Agreement is the one that actually governs the rental itself, and controls over the Terms of Service for anything specific to your rental.
By signing this Agreement — digitally at booking or in person at pickup — you confirm you've read and agree to it, and that everyone listed as an authorized driver meets the eligibility requirements below.
02 Driver eligibility
To rent and drive a vehicle from EasyRide, you must:
- Hold a valid, unexpired driver's license appropriate for the vehicle class, issued by a U.S. state or a recognized foreign jurisdiction;
- Be at least 21 years old for standard vehicle classes, or 25 for passenger vans and select SUV classes (renters under 25 may be subject to a young-driver surcharge, shown at booking);
- Not be listed on any government sanctions or denied-persons list; and
- Pass our identity verification step described in Section 3.
Anyone who will drive the vehicle besides you must be listed as an additional authorized driver on this Agreement and meet the same requirements. Driving by an unlisted person is a violation of this Agreement and may void protection-plan coverage for any resulting damage, as described in Section 5.
03 How approval works
EasyRide does not run a credit check or consider your credit history as part of rental approval, regardless of vehicle class or rental length. Approval is instead based on:
- A photo of your valid driver's license;
- A live selfie match to confirm you're the license holder; and
- A standard identity and sanctions-list check.
We reserve the right to decline a rental, independent of credit history, if the identity verification fails, the license is expired/suspended/restricted in a way that's incompatible with the rental, or you're listed on a sanctions or denied-persons list. We'll tell you which of these applies if we decline a booking.
04 Deposit & payment
A refundable deposit is required at pickup, held against the payment method on file or, at participating locations, in cash. The deposit amount depends on vehicle class:

The deposit is released within 3 business days of vehicle return, provided the vehicle is returned on time, undamaged beyond normal wear, and with the agreed fuel level. Amounts owed for damage, late return, fuel, tolls, or fines (see Sections 6, 8, and 9) will be deducted from the deposit before the remainder is released; if the deposit doesn't cover the full amount owed, you remain responsible for the balance.
05 Protection plans
Every rental includes Basic coverage by default. You may upgrade to Standard or Premium at booking or at pickup, before the vehicle is released to you. Coverage cannot be added retroactively after an incident.

Already covered through your personal auto policy or a credit card benefit? You can decline our paid plans and keep Basic — just bring proof of coverage to pickup. Coverage terms, deductibles, and exclusions vary by state; ask our team for the state-specific version of this section.
No protection plan covers damage resulting from a prohibited use listed in Section 7, driving by an unauthorized driver, or intentional or grossly negligent conduct.
06 Fuel & mileage
Vehicles are provided with a full tank and should be returned with a full tank. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than provided, a refueling charge applies, calculated at the local pump price plus a service fee shown at pickup.
Standard rentals include 200 miles per rental day; additional miles are billed at the per-mile rate shown at booking. Unlimited-mileage rentals, where offered for a specific vehicle class or location, will say so explicitly at booking.
07 Prohibited uses
The vehicle may not be used:
- By anyone not listed as an authorized driver on this Agreement;
- To transport persons or property for hire (for example, rideshare or delivery work), unless that use is explicitly authorized in writing at booking;
- To tow, push, or carry a load beyond the manufacturer's rated capacity;
- In any race, speed test, or off-road driving;
- While the driver is under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
- To commit or facilitate an unlawful act; or
- Outside the country of rental, unless authorized in writing in advance.
A vehicle used in violation of this section is not covered by any protection plan, and you're responsible for the full cost of any resulting damage, loss, or liability.
08 Damage, loss & accidents
Report any accident, damage, or theft involving the vehicle to EasyRide and, where required by law, to local police, as soon as it's safe to do so. Your financial responsibility for damage or loss is determined by the protection plan in effect at the time, as set out in Section 5.
You agree to cooperate with any resulting insurance claim or investigation, including providing a written account of the incident.
09 Returns & late fees
The vehicle is due back at the location and time stated on your booking confirmation. A grace period of 29 minutes applies before a late fee begins. After that, late returns are billed at an additional half-day or full-day rate depending on how late the return is, as shown at booking.
If a vehicle is not returned and we haven't heard from you within 24 hours of the due time, we may report it as overdue or unrecovered to local authorities and pursue recovery, which may include additional fees and legal action.
10 Breakdown & roadside help
Every rental includes 24/7 roadside assistance for mechanical breakdowns, flat tires, lockouts, and similar issues not caused by a prohibited use. Call the number on your rental paperwork; we'll arrange assistance or a replacement vehicle, depending on the issue and your location.
11 Cancellation
You can cancel a confirmed booking free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time. Cancellations within 24 hours of pickup, or a no-show, may be charged a fee equal to one rental day, as shown at the time of booking.
12 Liability
Subject to the protection plan in effect, you're financially responsible for damage to or loss of the vehicle during the rental period, and for any fines, tolls, or citations incurred while the vehicle is in your possession. EasyRide's own liability to you under this Agreement is limited to direct damages and doesn't extend to indirect or consequential losses, except where such a limitation isn't permitted by law.
13 General terms
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. If a provision of this Agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. This Agreement, together with your booking confirmation and the Terms of Service, makes up the entire understanding between you and EasyRide for this rental.
